Carpal Tunnel Pain Relief with micromoves

"There's Light at the End of the Tunnel"

Just think and feel what it would be like to prevent, reduce or release the tension, pain and discomfort in your arms and wrists. You could experience increased productivity, improved attitude and just more happiness in what you are doing. Don't take your work pains home. Prevent this common repetitive injury before it debilitates and aggravates you. Now relief and prevention is in sight with micromoves

All moves should be done slowly & gently without pressure. See disclaimer at the bottom of the page

What is CARPAL TUNNEL?

The wrist is made of eight "carpal" bones that form a tunnel. The nine tendons that move the fingers and the median nerve go through this tunnel. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome occurs when swollen tendons resulting from repetitive moves constrict the median nerve.

Below are some of the possible causes of general wrist pain leading to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which must be diagnosed by a physician:

  • Misplaced wrist rest on a desk
  • Keyboard too low or too high causing extreme angles at the wrist
  • Prolonged keyboarding
  • Clutching pencil
  • Raising index finger during repetitive mouse clicking
  • Mousing with the same hand continuously
  • Keyboarding with wrists at extreme angles (hands raised up - hyperextension or bent down - flexion)
  • Hands turned fingers pointing to sides (Ulnar diviation) or toward each other (radial deviation)
  • Hands turned palm down for prolonged periods

TIP - Place desk wrist rest at the base of the palm (heel of hand) avoiding pressure on the median nerve, or use the mouse with other hand.

microMOVES™

Lazy 8 - Eases tension in hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders. Helps you learn better by integrating the right and left sides of the brain. How it works: By starting on the left you activate the right side of the brain, your more "creative" side. By continuously crossing the midline of your body, it assists in the integration of both sides. Repeat three times for each side.

Tennis Ball - Relaxes hands, wrists, and fingers. How it works: By fixing the far end of a limb to the tennis ball and moving, you relieve the tension in the near end. Repeat once on each side.

Forearm Stretch - Helps to relieve tight or fatigued forearms, How it works: Lengthens the forearm extensors and counteracts the effects of prolonged typing. Repeat once on each side.

Forearm Strengtheners - Strengthens the forearm and flexors using gravity as resistance. How it works: When moving from flexion to neutral, your extensors contract to gain strength. Going past neutral strains the extensors. Likewise, moving from slight extension (palm up) to neutral strengthens the flexors. Repeat eight times on each side.

Hands Under The Table - Strengthens forearm extensors and flexors using the desk as resistance. How it works: The desk offers resistance as you press. This is an isometric strengthener. The finger order is due to tendon placement. Repeat once.

Finger Flexion / Extension - Relieves tension in forearm extensors and flexors. How it works: Imagery guides action. By imagining a weight that is not there, you activate a motor program in your central nervous system to perform the movement more efficiently. Repeat all moves once on each side.

How does micromoves work?

One of our basic concepts is that "The cause of the pain is most often not where we feel the pain." Wrist and carpal tunnel pain can be caused from poor posture, improper ergonomic practices, sitting incorrectly, repetitive movements, immobility, arm and wrist positions and other reasons. Therefore we offer a group of micro-moves to approach your pain more wholistically. Any one
micromoves  affects the efficiency of the body as a whole.

Move beyond the tightness and immobility of wrist pain. You are in control of the cause and healing of this discomfort. You can stop the fatigue, strain and burnout that it leads to. Find out how
micromoves can be your portable pain preventer.
